Split Rock's Kitchens Are Dark for Now. Lake Harmony Still Has Dinner Covered Seven Nights a Week

October 22, 2026

Split Rock Resort closed its Town Center in September for a full renovation of its mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. That shut the Town Center guest rooms and the H2Ooooh! indoor water park, according to 28/22 News. The resort's restaurant page now calls its dining centers "temporarily closed for renovations," and the water park page says H2Ooooh! "will remain closed until further notice." Neither the resort nor local coverage has given a reopening date.

The closure didn't shut everything. It took out the resort's beds, its slides and its kitchens, and the bowling lanes, courts and arcade stayed open. So for anyone with a house in Split Rock or around the lake, the resort works like a recreation center this fall. Meals come from the independent restaurants around Lake Harmony, and their days off are staggered so that one of them is serving every night.

What the resort still runs

The resort's announcement, as 28/22 News reported it on Sept. 23, listed these amenities as staying open through the renovation:

  • Indoor pool
  • Fitness center
  • Sports complex
  • Outdoor sports complex
  • Arcade and game zone
  • Bowling
  • Mini golf
  • Beach

Overnight guests are being booked into Willowbrook while Town Center is closed. The Times News confirmed the same setup on Oct. 16, with Willowbrook taking reservations and the indoor pool, fitness center, both sports complexes, arcade and bowling still open.

Bowling is the clearest option for anyone who isn't staying at the resort. Split Rock's activities page says bowling is open to the public, with shoes included in the price: $6 for children 12 and under and $8 for everyone older. It lists bowling and arcade hours as 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Some offers on that same page still carry 2025 labels, and the indoor pool is described there as part of Town Center. Call the resort before you plan a pool afternoon or a bowling night around those posted hours.

That leaves something to do on a rainy November Saturday at Split Rock, but nowhere at the resort to eat dinner afterward.

Seven nights, staggered days off

The two kitchens that post full weekly schedules have complementary days off. Nick's Lake House is closed Tuesdays, Boulder View Tavern is closed Mondays, and neither closes on the same night as the other.

Night Boulder View Tavern Nick's Lake House
Monday Closed 4 to 10 p.m.
Tuesday 4 to 10 p.m. Closed
Wednesday 4 to 10 p.m. 4 to 10 p.m.
Thursday 4 to 10 p.m. 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday Noon to 10 p.m. 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday Noon to 10 p.m. 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday Noon to 9 p.m. 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Boulder View Tavern calls itself "Big Boulder Lake's best (and only) restaurant," and its site invites diners to its outdoor bar and patio "anytime of year." That year-round promise is what makes it useful right now.

Nick's Lake House is at 20 South Lake Drive, and per its listing with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau it's the only one of the two open for Sunday breakfast, starting at 8 a.m. Nick's also covers Monday dinner, the one night Boulder View is closed.

Piggy's Restaurant at 16 N Lake Shore Drive is another breakfast option, and its online ordering page has shown an 8:30 a.m. opening. Check that page for the day you plan to go, since it doesn't list a full weekly schedule. For a sit-down steak dinner, Louie's Prime Steakhouse at 244 Lake Harmony Road lists evening hours of 4 to 9:30 p.m. on its website. Louie's doesn't post a full weekly schedule, so check the site before you drive over on a weeknight.

The Hub, before its season runs out

The Hub at Split Rock Golf Club sits closer to most Split Rock driveways than anything else on this list. It's an independently run business on the golf club property, and its own site says Jeff and Shelly Lutz developed it from the former timeshare sales building and renovated it in 2021 and 2022. It carries groceries, prepared food, gifts, beer and wine, coffee and ice cream, and it has a pub and virtual golf. With the resort's restaurants closed, that makes The Hub the nearest place for both a quart of milk and a pint.

Timing matters here. The Visitors Bureau's listing for The Hub gives its address as 15 Wolf Hollow Run Road and says it's open seven days a week from April through November, with live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. That puts the next few weekends at the end of its listed season. If a Friday set at The Hub is part of your fall, go before the calendar turns to December. Split Rock Golf Club itself is at 140 Wolf Hollow Run Road and can be reached at 570-722-9901 for questions about the course's late-season schedule.

Where the late nights moved

Split Rock's resort bars used to supply some of the area's late-evening options. This fall, the latest regular hours near the lake belong to Shenanigans. Its events page lists karaoke and Boomers Night Club DJ entertainment every Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. That's two hours past closing time at Boulder View and Nick's.

The end of October is also its busiest stretch:

  1. Friday, Oct. 30: Jimmy Leahey and the Greyman Group, 8 to 11 p.m.
  2. Saturday, Oct. 31: The annual Halloween Bash, with entertainment by The Buzz and a costume contest, 8 p.m. to midnight.

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. Plan dinner for 6 at Boulder View or Nick's, and you'll be done well before The Buzz starts at Shenanigans at 8, all without leaving the lake.

The next thing to open

The next new season in the Split Rock area starts on a ski slope. Big Boulder's night skiing page says night sessions run all season starting at 3 p.m., and its ticket calendar shows a night ticket for Saturday, Dec. 12, 2026. That date comes from the ticket calendar, not from an opening-day announcement. Vail Resorts' Aug. 18 release of 2026–27 opening dates didn't include Jack Frost or Big Boulder, said more resort dates would follow, and noted that dates depend on weather and conditions. For comparison, Jack Frost planned to open on Dec. 5 last season, according to the Times News.

Jack Frost Big Boulder is hiring for winter 2026/27, including cooks, ski instructors and lift operators, according to the resort's homepage.

Until the slopes open and Split Rock announces a reopening date for Town Center, here's the lake's schedule. The lanes and courts are at the resort, dinner is at Boulder View and Nick's on their alternating nights, The Hub is open through November, and Shenanigans has the lake's latest hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
